Gangotri Dham
Gangotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga, the holy river that is considered the lifeline of India. It is located at 3,100 meters in Uttarkashi and is an important part of the Char Dham Yatra. The temple was built in the 18th century by Amar Singh Thapa and is believed to be the place where King Bhagirath’s prayers brought River Ganga down to Earth to wash away sins.
The temple is surrounded by beautiful mountains and the Bhagirathi River, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Many pilgrims take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River, believing it cleanses sins. Nearby, the Gaumukh Glacier, the actual source of the Ganges, and Pandava Gufa, where the Pandavas are said to have meditated, attract visitors.
Reaching Gangotri by road can be long and tiring, especially with unpredictable weather. That’s why many devotees choose Gangotri Yatra by helicopter, which is a quick, safe, and comfortable way to visit the temple. The aerial view of the Himalayas and VIP darshan make the journey special. It is a great option for elderly pilgrims and those looking for an easy and peaceful pilgrimage.
